SPATIAL FILM · FOR FILMMAKERS
Apple Immersive Video distribution, by filmmakers

You made
the film. We built
the theater.

Spatial Film is immersive distribution run by working filmmakers — no gatekeepers, no year-long festival queue, no pennies per minute. Your film premieres on Apple Vision Pro, you keep 70% of net, and you watch every sale on a live statement.

The gap

The best camera ever pointed at a story deserves better than a void.

You shot 16K stereoscopic at 90 frames a second. You graded it, mixed Spatial Audio, and finished a true Apple Immersive master. And then — where does it premiere?

Festivals book out a year ahead. The big platforms bury immersive work under flat video and mail out per-minute pennies. Apple built the most beautiful screen in the world, but not the box office to go with it.

That gap is why Spatial Film exists. We built it for our own films first. Now it's open to yours.

What you get

Direct to the audience.
Direct to you.

A curated slate on Apple Vision Pro — not a content dump. Your film sells per-copy at a premium price, next to our own titles.

0%

Need finishing? If we master your footage into Apple Immersive Video — on the same post pipeline Blackmagic Design wrote about — it's an even 50/50.

01Premiere.
Native Apple Immersive Video with your Spatial Audio mix intact — played exactly the way you finished it, in the only headset with an audience that pays for premium immersive. A curated slate, next to our own films. Not a content dump.
02Proof.
Every sale, every play, hours watched, completion rate, sales by country — updated within minutes on a private page that's yours from day one. Most distribution feels like mailing your film into a void. You get a login, not a quarterly PDF. The live Spatial Film filmmaker statement: copies sold, gross, net, plays and hours watched per film
03Reach.
Our channels reach 600,000+ subscribers on YouTube and 800,000+ followers across platforms — the exact audience that owns the headset. We produce launch content with you, not a listing that sinks on day two.
04Yours.
A one-page, plain-English agreement. Non-exclusive — release anywhere else you like, whenever you like. We're filmmakers; we've read enough 40-page rights grabs for one lifetime.
The bar

We keep the bar where Apple set it.

Audiences pay for this format because nothing about it is faked. That only stays true if every film on the slate clears the same bar ours do.

Shot on something else? We can't take it yet — and we'd rather tell you that here than after you've filled in a form. As the format grows, the bar may widen. Follow the channel and you'll hear it there first.

Who's behind this

Made by filmmakers.
Run by filmmakers.

Spatial Film is Hugh Hou and Keeley Turner — an independent, Webby- and Emmy-nominated immersive studio in Los Angeles. We shoot on the same URSA Cine Immersive we ask of you, finish end-to-end in DaVinci Resolve, and Blackmagic Design has featured both sides of our pipeline in official press releases.

We built this platform because we needed it ourselves: a place where an immersive film could premiere, earn, and be seen — without asking anyone's permission. Cutting the gatekeepers worked for our films. Now the same door is open to yours.

Questions

The fine print, unfined.

How much do I actually earn?

Films sell at $7.99. Apple takes its App Store commission (currently 15%), leaving about $6.79 net — you keep 70% of that, about $4.75 a copy. If we do the mastering for you, it's an even 50/50.

Who owns my film?

You do. We take a non-exclusive license to distribute — one page, plain English. Release it anywhere else you like.

How do I see my numbers?

A private live statement: copies sold, gross, net, your share, plays, hours watched, completion, by country — updated within minutes of a sale.

How and when do I get paid?

Sales run through Apple's App Store; we settle your share with you directly on a regular schedule, with the statement as the single source of truth for both of us.

My film wasn't shot on the URSA Cine Immersive — can I submit?

Not yet. The slate is 100% true Apple-spec immersive; that's what the audience is paying for. As the format grows the bar may widen — follow the channel and you'll hear it there first.

Does length matter?

No. Shorts to features — what matters is a finished AIV master that clears the capture bar.
